Someone to Share it With: Two Person Exhibition at University Arts League

In the Summer of 2025, artist collective Every Blue Moon (Yannick Lowery and Qiaira Riley) were invited to Chicago to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1975 film Mahogany, starring Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams. The duo later held a private screening of the film at Philadelphia’s Fitler Club in preparation for the the show opening. Someone to Share it With explores the complications of the films many conservative ideas, particularly around relationships and the current relevance in popular media. Watching the YouTube game show sensation, Pop the Balloon or Find Love, Lowery draws comparisons and ask questions about contemporary love through review and revision of the film. The show also hints to the personal dynamics between the artists of Every Blue Moon.
